Cork City vacancy hots-up

Cork City are on the look-out for a new manager following the sacking of Alan Matthews yesterday. New Cork City owner Tom Coughlan reportedly called Matthews at 9.30 am yesterday morning to announce his decision and Matthews was out.
But just over 24 hours on Cork City have been linked with a few managers. Former Cork City legend John Caulfield is in the early frame after guiding Avondale United to two FAI imtermediate titles while former Waterford United boss Gareth Cronin is also linked with a move following his resignation last month.
Other managers who could be in the frame are John Gill and Stephan Henderson with the latter quitting as Cobh Ramblers boss last month.
