Drogheda United trouble

2007 champions Drogheda United have been allowed to extend their examinership by a further 30 days by the courts. Drogheda United have been told to find more than €500,000 by the end of the 30 days otherwise the club will fold.
To help with the raising of the money supporters have organized fund raising events, but more will have to give.

player exodus:
The Drogheda squad is suffering from an exodus of players leaving for jobs and football abroad. Star striker Eamon Zayed has revealed he may have to leave Ireland to continue his career. The former Bray Wanderers man has been on trial with South Korean Deajon Citizen last month but has revealed he may move to either England or Scandinavia.
Zayed is reportedly interesting Deajon Citizen, Darlington, Viking FF and Djurgardens and Zayed expects a deal to be completed before Christmas.
Sami Ristilä has left the club to rejoin FC Haka of Finland and has signed a 3-year contract. Midfielder Brian Shelley has had offers from Bohemians and St Patrick's and is set to sign a deal in the coming days.
Winger Shane Robinson is on trial with Brentford with a permanent deal likely and Graham Gartland could be off to Scotland to join Rangers.
Australian John Tambouras has agreed a deal with Azerbaijan side Neftchi Baku and defender Joe Kendrick is set to follow to agree a deal with another Azerbaijan side.
Drogheda United will be losing some of their key players to cut down on the costs but they need to be sold for fees to go towards the figure wanted by the courts.
